Hey Everyone

Welcome and thanks for checking in with us.....

We're hard at work on all sorts of oscure tunes from Garcia's vast catalogue away from The Dead. We'll be debuting a whole slew of new stuff this Friday, 6/27, at Beau's Bar in Greenlawn, NY. With the addition of Eric firmly in the mix on bass this band is touching on all the favorites of Jerry through all his side projects. Tunes like Valerie, Catfish John, Mystery Train and Tough Mama. The instrumental workhorses like Expressway(To Your Heart) and Finders Keepers. We've been finding the really deep pockets in our favorites like Tore Up Over You and After Midnight. Lots of fun and looking forward to more.....

Hey Friends & Family,

The JFP would like to thank the steady stream of new faces turning up at our shows. Last night's gig at Beau's Bar was amazing for the band as well as the audience. The JFP pulled off 3 sets finally calling it a night at 3:30 in the morning after a blistering reading of Mystery Train. Folks were also treated to That's Alright Mama, a very exploratory & lengthy Deal and a 15+ Minute Sugaree.

We'd like to take the time to welcome Eric Fayer who's signed on and and started to play bass with us when schedule permits. Eric is a veteran of the greater NYC Dead scene. He has an uncanny ear and knack for these tunes. An all around great player!

That's all and stay tuned......

Greetings Everyone,

The JFP has just reached it's first year as a band and we're pretty excited. When we set out to start this project the recipe was simple. A group of hardcore Deadheads with a real love for what Jerry Garcia was doing with his music on the side, away from the Grateful Dead.  Each of us has had a wild ride musically with many different bands and we collectively brought all of it together to form The JFP. It's been a great year with alot of hard work and a bunch of killer gigs. We're psyched at the scene that's developing around our shows. Heads both far and near are coming out to check us out and support us. For us, it's been amazing to be able to play these songs for folks that really dig em'.

We'll be wrapping up 2007 with a very special show this Friday, December 21st, at none other than Beau's Bar in Greenlawn, NY. Come by and celebrate the end of the year, the holidays, the music, whatever your celebration is. Come do it with us!

Hey All,

The JFP has found our own little Keystone out on Long Island, called Beau's Bar. We've been performing there for a few months now, sometimes playing until the wee hours of the morning. The JFP is digging into some early Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders nuggets. Recent sets have seen the emergence of Positively 4th Street by Bob Dylan, I Was Made To Love Her by Stevie Wonder, Midnight Moonlight by Peter Rowan and Russian Lullaby by Irving Berlin. Come check us out this Saturday, September 15th, in the funky little town of Greenlawn, NY as we dig into and stretch out on this amazing material.

Hey Folks....

We had an amazing time at The Triad Theater last Friday, helping to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Grateful Dead show that took place at Cornell University on May 8th, 1977. The JFP was definately psyched to be a part of that. Thanks to Alan Bigelow for putting it all together and for including us among the great many bands that night. Check out these photos of The JFP performing They Love Each Other and Morning Dew. And lastly, thanks to Lynn Elliot and Michael Kaufman for helping out once again to make our stuff shine!
